Master Scheduling

The Master schedule is the third pillar in the Sales and Operations Plan. Here we balance the demand for inventory and sales with capacity. If capacity cannot meet demand, then you are failing on customer service; equally, if capacity is too high for demand, you are not maximising overhead recovery. Recycling the Sales and Operations Plan is the best way of redressing this imbalance, but before doing so we must be certain that the Master Schedule is an accurate and effective record of what the Supply Chain can achieve.

We will implement World Class Scheduling Processes that:

  • Are driven by the demand plan and optimum stock
  • Balance workcentre capacity with demand
  • Do not make assumptions about attainment
  • Smooth schedules to maximise efficiency
  • Include backward and forward scheduling techniques
  • Highlight bottlenecks automatically
  • Consume forecast at order generation
